I have had this book a few years now and was recently talking to a friend who has gotten in to the seminar business. This was one of those books that made a big impression on me so I suggested he read it. I pulled it back out and started thumbing through it to refresh my memory on some of the things I've learned from the author.
Unlike a lot of books I have read, this one I highlighted and wrote notes in the margin throughout. Every page has three or four highlighted areas and notes.
That is rare for me. I prefer books to get to the point, quickly.

And this one does it. There is very little filler here. Just straight to the point and specific. He covers things like how many times should you contact your seminar attendees? What methods of contact should you use? Gathering and using testimonials.
Developing your marketing list. And a whole lot more. He talked about selling from the stage using humor and stories and how to come across as a real person.
After thumbing through it I Decided to reread it just as a refresher. Just an aside here but I have read some of the negative reviews that have complained about Fred Gleeck spending too much time selling his other services. I would have to agree that he does this a bit excessively in this book. However, he delivers wholeheartedly on sound Advice and information on the seminar business.
In fact, I felt like I got more out of this book than dozens of others I've read. And of course, I wanted to experience other approaches to the seminar and public speaking business, and after doing a lot of research, Fred Gleeck and Robert Jolles were the names that kept coming up again and again, with rave reviews. Our company has been running successful seminars and symposiums for almost 20 years, and I will happily confess that I learned a ton from this book; I learned a new way of looking at seminars, profitability, and how to market seminars. I wasn't sure at first how I felt about his heavy-handed revenue-driven approach to seminars; I feel that educating is also an important component in the seminar equation.
I got over my first impression, opened my mind, and when I did, I began to see ways to modify Gleeck's methods to allow them to work within our seminar structure, and within my comfort zone.

I am always looking for additional tips to perfect my craft and calling. This book was extremely helpful. I read it with a pen and notebook next to me and highlighter in hand.
